Overview: This striking trio brings the magic of the forest indoors with three iconic ferns that each offer their own unique texture. The Silver Fern provides soft, silvery fronds, the Bird’s Nest Fern adds broad, emerald waves of foliage, and the Staghorn Fern delivers sculptural, antler-like leaves. Native to tropical forests, these ferns thrive in bright, humid indoor spaces. Together, they create an effortlessly lush, calming display perfect for South African homes.

Quirky Fact / Common Use: Staghorn Ferns naturally grow on trees in the wild, absorbing moisture through their fronds—making them one of the few ā€œair-plant-likeā€ ferns loved by collectors.

Ideal For:
• Perfect for apartments, homes with medium-light rooms, bathrooms, shaded patios, and offices
• Great for beginners and plant lovers wanting easy, low-maintenance greenery
• A must-have for creating texture and contrast in mixed plant displays or dĆ©cor arrangements
• Their dramatic foliage adds visual depth and they grow between 30–60 cm, making them ideal for tabletops, shelves, wall-mounted displays (Staghorn) or floor stands for the Bird’s Nest

(Received plants may differ slightly from images displayed. Unless otherwise specified, all Plants come in black nursery pots)

🌱 Tips: Ferns love humidity, so avoid placing them directly next to heaters or air-conditioners—this often causes crispy brown edges. If fronds develop spots or dryness, simply trim damaged tips and increase humidity by misting or placing a saucer of water nearby. Silver Ferns especially dislike drying out, while Bird’s Nest Ferns are forgiving as long as water doesn’t collect in the centre cup. Staghorn Ferns may develop brown shield fronds—these are normal and should never be removed.

šŸŒ¤ļø Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh midday sun through windows, which can scorch fronds. Ideal placement: well-lit living rooms, bathrooms with windows, or bright offices.

šŸ’§ Watering: Keep soil lightly moist—not soggy. Water when the top 2–3 cm feels slightly dry. Mist regularly for best results. Staghorn Ferns can be soaked briefly when dry.

šŸŒ”ļø Temperature: Best between 18°C – 26°C, ideal for typical South African homes. Protect from cold winter drafts and extreme heatwaves.

šŸƒ Feeding: Use Slow Release Fertilizer or apply a balanced, diluted Liquid Fertilizer (e.g., 5:1:4). Feed lightly in spring and summer, and reduce feeding during autumn and winter when growth slows.

🐾 Pet Friendly? āŒ NO – Not recommended for pets, as ingestion may cause mild digestive irritation. Safe for normal household display but keep out of reach from curious cats and dogs.

What would you like to see:

To ensure fresh and healthy plants we follow a strict weekly shipping schedule:

Mondays: We prepare plants for shipping! This means wrapping the soil, adding plant sleeves, and one last pre-travel watering.
Tuesdays: We wake up bright and early to get all plants carefully packaged for shipping in the morning, in the afternoon we hand over plants with the longest travel ahead of them to our courier partners (this means Eastern, Western and Northern Cape)
Wednesdays: If there are any plants that did not fit in the Tuesday truck, they travel in the second batch on a Wednesday.
Thursdays and Fridays: No plants are shipped, we carefully monitor all the travelling plant babies to ensure they arrive safely at their new homes !

Why do we do this?

Our shipping schedule works this way to ensure that your plants are less likely to spend a weekend in the courier depot ! Our shipping schedule is designed this way to ensure that your plants are fresh and healthy, for this same reason we do not like keeping stock for extended periods of time which means that stock received on Thursdays and Fridays will only be shipped the following week.
