Majestic Air-Purifying Giant

Scientific Name: Spathiphyllum ‘Sensation’
Common Names / Known As: Peace Lily Sensation, White Sails
Overview: The Peace Lily Sensation enchants with its large, glossy dark green leaves and elegant white, hood-like blooms that stand tall on slender stalks. Native to Central and South America, this robust indoor plant is a favourite for its air-purifying qualities and striking presence. Its lush foliage and blooms make it ideal for creating a calming, sophisticated atmosphere.
Quirky Fact / Common Use: Its white blooms, often mistaken for flowers, are actually specialised leaf bracts called spathes, symbolising peace and purity in many cultures.
Available: 16.5cm and 30cm Nursery Pot

Ideal For:

  • Apartments, offices, or living rooms, adding a serene, elegant touch to any décor.
  • Great for beginner plant enthusiasts due to its low-maintenance care requirements.
  • A must-have because it purifies indoor air, adds lush texture to plant arrangements, and thrives in low-light conditions, enhancing tranquil spaces.
  • Its elegant, glossy foliage and bold blooms make a statement and grow to a height of 90–150 cm, ideal for floor standing or large table tops.

(Received plants may differ slightly from images displayed. Unless otherwise specified, all Plants come in black nursery pots)

  • Light: Thrives in low to bright, indirect light but prefers medium to low light for optimal growth. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn.
  • Watering: Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry, roughly every 7–10 days, ensuring good drainage to avoid root rot.
  • Temperature: Prefers 18–26°C, typical of South African indoor climates. Protect from cold drafts below 13°C.
  • Feeding: Apply a balanced, diluted liquid fertiliser (e.g., 5:1:4) every 6–8 weeks during spring and summer. Avoid fertilising in autumn and winter.
  • Pet Friendly? ❌ Toxic to cats, dogs, and children if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and little ones.
  • Care: Overwatering is a common mistake; ensure well-draining soil and pots with drainage holes to prevent soggy roots. Wilting leaves or yellowing may indicate underwatering or low humidity—water consistently and mist occasionally. Gently wipe leaves with a damp cloth to maintain their glossy shine.

What would you like to see:

To ensure fresh and healthy plants we follow a strict weekly shipping schedule:

Mondays: We prepare plants for shipping! This means wrapping the soil, adding plant sleeves, and one last pre-travel watering.
Tuesdays: We wake up bright and early to get all plants carefully packaged for shipping in the morning, in the afternoon we hand over plants with the longest travel ahead of them to our courier partners (this means Eastern, Western and Northern Cape)
Wednesdays: If there are any plants that did not fit in the Tuesday truck, they travel in the second batch on a Wednesday.
Thursdays and Fridays: No plants are shipped, we carefully monitor all the travelling plant babies to ensure they arrive safely at their new homes !

Why do we do this?

Our shipping schedule works this way to ensure that your plants are less likely to spend a weekend in the courier depot ! Our shipping schedule is designed this way to ensure that your plants are fresh and healthy, for this same reason we do not like keeping stock for extended periods of time which means that stock received on Thursdays and Fridays will only be shipped the following week.
