About our small business

Grow with the Flow is a dedicated small business based in Lanseria, Gauteng. Driven by a shared passion for indoor plants and a commitment to serving plant enthusiasts across South Africa.

Operating exclusively online, we’ve created a wonderfully lush platform that allows plant lovers to shop for a diverse range of indoor plants, maintenance products and accessories all from the comfort of their homes.

Our mission is to make the beauty of greenery accessible to everyone, no matter where in South Africa they reside, or what their experience level is.

Where it all started

A small business started with humble beginnings in 2020 during COVID, the seed planted was a
love for having lush green plant babies in our own home but it was watered amidst the lockdown when some career changes were unexpectedly thrust upon us.

With a commonly expressed piece of advice in our heads “do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”, and a love for greenery in our hearts, we decided to put down roots and the beautiful blossoming result is this wonderful small business now known as Grow with the Flow.

something you may not know about us is that we ourselves started out as beginner plant parents too!

With a shared vision for fostering green connections, a love for learning and a true appreciation for every new plant parent that placed an order with us, we have grown to new heights. We take pride in curating a diverse collection of plants, from vibrant climbers to low-light companions each chosen to thrive in the unique indoor environments of South African homes.

We’re Jacques and Megan, the new owners of Grow with the Flow, and we wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves! If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind the messages on our webpage or WhatsApp, well—it's us!

We’re a husband-and-wife duo juggling day jobs and a shared love for all things natural. But when the clock ticks over, we transform into Delicious Monsters (terrible joke, we know—but we couldn’t resist!).

Our sense of humor is as dry as a cactus in summer, so feel free to hit us with your best plant puns. Here’s one to break the ice: Why do plants hate math? Because it gives them square roots! 🌿😂

What would you like to see:

To ensure fresh and healthy plants we follow a strict weekly shipping schedule: 

Mondays: We prepare plants for shipping! This means wrapping the soil, adding plant sleeves, and one last pre-travel watering. 
Tuesdays: We wake up bright and early to get all plants carefully packaged for shipping in the morning, in the afternoon we hand over plants with the longest travel ahead of them to our courier partners (this means Eastern, Western and Northern Cape)
Wednesdays: If there are any plants that did not fit in the Tuesday truck, they travel in the second batch on a Wednesday. 
Thursdays and Fridays: No plants are shipped, we carefully monitor all the travelling plant babies to ensure they arrive safely at their new homes ! 

Why do we do this? 

Our shipping schedule works this way to ensure that your plants are less likely to spend a weekend in the courier depot ! Our shipping schedule is designed this way to ensure that your plants are fresh and healthy, for this same reason we do not like keeping stock for extended periods of time which means that stock received on Thursdays and Fridays will only be shipped the following week.
